Why “All Eyes on Reasi” is Trending

All Eyes On Reasi: Several people, including children, died following an Israeli airstrike on a refugee camp in southern Gaza’s Rafah. “All Eyes on Rafah” became popular on social media after the incident as people voiced their disapproval and demanded an end to the atrocities. In a similar vein, “All Eyes on Reasi” has become popular in India. Let’s investigate the reason behind the social media trend for “All Eyes on Reasi”.

"All Eyes on Reasi"

A bus full of pilgrims was attacked on Sunday in the Reasi area of Jammu & Kashmir, tragically leaving nine people dead and 33 injured. The terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)’s affiliate, the Resistance Front (TRF), has taken credit for the attack. The TRF described this attack as the “beginning of a renewed start” and issued a warning about other attacks aimed at “tourists and non-locals.” As All Eyes On Reasi gains traction on social media, a number of Bollywood celebrities have expressed their sadness and sympathy for the victims and their families in response to the event, which has attracted broad condemnation across the country.

TRF’s History and Emergence

Following the repeal of Article 370, the TRF was established and started out as an online organisation. After six months, it transformed into a real organisation by combining terrorists from different groups, such as LeT. The formation of TRF was a strategic move by Pakistan, under pressure from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to clean up its terror funding activities.

Nation in Mourning

The country is in shock and grief following the horrible occurrence. Several public personalities, including Bollywood celebs, flocked to social media as the attack’s details became known to offer their sympathies and denounce the brutality.

Bollywood Celebrities Express Shock

Kangana Ranaut, an actress who transitioned into politics, posted a statement on Instagram expressing her disapproval of the heinous terrorist attack on pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir. Only because they were Hindus did terrorists openly fire on them as they were pursuing Vaishnodevi Darshan. I pray for the departed and hope the injured get well soon.

“Hurts my heart hearing about this, so many innocent lives lost,” actress Rashmika Mandanna wrote in a poignant social media post. I send my sincere sympathies to the families of each and every victim. I’m wishing for everyone who has been hurt to heal quickly.”

Through social media, actor Varun Dhawan conveyed his sorrow, writing, “Devastated by the heinous attack on innocent pilgrims in Reasi.  I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist act. Praying for the departed souls.”

“Angry, Pained and Saddened by the cowardly attack on pilgrims in Reasi,” veteran actor Anupam Kher said on his X handle, expressing his sorrow. Jammu! May Almighty give the loved ones of victims the strength to bear the pain and loss.Prayers for the injured people’s quick recovery.”

Pakistan’s Involvement

The Pakistani apparatus and its terror network established TRF in order to distance itself from LeT and its infamous leader, Hafiz Saeed. This was an attempt to disguise itself as a local resistance movement instead of a religious terrorist organisation in order to receive finance and support.
